Learn the traditional process of lost wax casting used by professional jewellers.

Discover the traditional art of lost wax casting, one of the most important techniques used in professional jewellery making. For centuries, jewellers, sculptors and artisans have used this process to transform detailed wax models into beautifully crafted metal pieces.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design, carve and refine your own wax model with guidance from experienced silversmiths. Along the way, your instructor will explain how the lost wax casting process works, including spruing,

investment, burnout and casting, so you understand how your wax carving will later be transformed into a finished piece of jewellery.

At the end of the session, you’ll leave your completed wax model with us. Our studio will professionally cast, finish and polish your piece in sterling silver, brass or gold, ready for collection once completed.

What you'll be learning.

What's Included

Tools and materials
20g of Brass or up to 5g of silver is provided, anything extra, for thicker pieces, can be requested , charged at $2/g.
We do have different shades of gold available, to be requested upon booking, subjected to market rates.
Take back your own wax carving (will be lost if cast in brass), moulds and final finished piece.

Workshop Workflow

Begin with an introduction to the lost wax casting process and learn how professional jewellers transform wax models into finished jewellery.
Watch a short educational presentation explaining each stage of the casting process, from wax carving through to casting, finishing and polishing.
Design your own ring, pendant or small sculptural piece before transferring your idea into jeweller's wax.
Learn how to use a variety of professional wax carving tools and techniques to shape and refine your design.
Receive one-on-one guidance throughout the workshop as your instructor helps you troubleshoot, refine details and achieve your desired outcome.
Leave your completed wax model with our studio, where it will be professionally cast, finished and polished before collection.

What will I make during the workshop?
You'll design and hand-carve your own wax model, such as a ring, pendant or small jewellery piece, ready for professional casting.
Will I cast my jewellery during the workshop?
No. You'll create your wax model during the workshop, which will then be professionally cast, finished and polished by our studio.
Do I need any experience?
Not at all. This workshop is beginner-friendly, and our instructors will guide you throughout the carving process.
Can I bring my own design?
Yes! Feel free to bring reference images or sketches, and we'll help adapt your design where needed.
When will my finished piece be ready?
Your completed jewellery is typically ready for collection within 1 to 2 weeks.
Can I book as a group?
Absolutely. We welcome private groups, team-building events and celebrations. Contact us to arrange a group booking.

Cancellation and Other Policies

Cancellation
As each workshop place is reserved in advance and materials are prepared specifically for your booking, all bookings are non-refundable and non-cancellable.
Rescheduling
One complimentary reschedule is permitted if requested at least 7 days before your workshop. Rescheduling requests made within 7 days of the workshop may not be accommodated.
Minimum Class Size
A minimum of 2 participants is required for the workshop to proceed. If the minimum class size is not met, we will contact you to arrange an alternative date or provide a full refund.
Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time to ensure you receive the full workshop experience. To minimise disruption for other participants, we reserve the right to refuse entry to guests who arrive significantly late.
Collection of Finished Pieces
For lost wax casting workshops, completed jewellery is typically ready for collection within 1 to 2 weeks. We'll notify you once your piece has been professionally cast, finished and polished.
